These improvements have been made by modifying the method of casting the high-grade steel body and the complex internal ducting for the flow of condensate. Together with the use of up-rated gasket materials and casting joint
faces, it has been possible to increase the testing pressure while reducing

Sheldon Steam Traps have just one moving part, a free floating stainless steel sphere. It is held against the outlet by the pressure difference between the inside and the discharge side of the trap. When condensate enters the trap, the buoyancy of the float causes an area of the orifice to be exposed proportionally to the flow of the condensate. When the flow ceases the float returns to seal the trap. |
